Only Sandals in October?
I wouldn’t recommend only sandals in October. I’m on the Portuguese, about 80km from Santiago right now and the morning temperature was down to 11C this morning. There has also been some rain.- CaminoSteve2023

Hiking shoes recommendations
Greg, I wear Merrell Moab 3 hiking shoes daily and for hiking. I’ve found them to be very comfortable and resilient.
