San Fermin. How busy are albergues around Pamplona currently?

Wow Trecile, I think I will go for this option. Not only is there a bus to Tiebas 10 min after my arrival (taxi’s at the evening of the end of San Fermin may be tight), but it is also slightly downhill and into Obanos or Puente la Reina a short starting distance. Unlike LT FIT and the 40 km with...

SJPDP to Logroño, skipping Pamplona advice needed

You might be able to walk through Pamplona and spend a night at the albergue in Tiebas. Tiebas is on the Camino Aragonese and is a day's walk from Puente la Reina. You would pass by the marvelous Church of Santa Maria de Eunate. Here is information found about this by using the forum's search...

    Bus from PNA to Tiebas?

I remember when I walked the Aragonés years ago, we stopped in the Tiebas albergue to look around. The hospitalero told us he was happy to let pilgrims spend a few days there and bus in and out to the San Fermín fiestas. He told us there were regular buses because Tiebas is sort of a “bedroom...

    Pamplona during San Fermin

If anyone would like to stay in an albergue near Pamplona for two nights, and bus in to see the festivities, Tiebas (on the Camino Catalán) may be just what you're looking for. When LT and I walked the Catalán, we stopped for a look around at the Tiebas albergue, on our last day into Puente la...

    Pamplona during San Fermin

You could avoid Pamplona totally during the Festival of San Fermin. From the Pamplona airport walk southeast to Tiebas to join the Camino Aragones and perhaps stay in the Tiebas albergue. (This is their Gronze page). Reservations are accepted. The hub of Tiebas is the bar/resto in the Centro...

Pamplona during San Fermines, pros and cons?

Accommodation between Pamplona and Alto de Perdon

Thankyou Mspath - I would still love to walk up to Alto de Perdon - I remember not taking it in as much as I would have liked to and wish to correct my previous error! It sounds like this path might skip it? Is that right?

    from Huesca to Pamplona

This thread is an old one and the OP has done his camino by now. But I think it’s an interesting thing to consider, a start in Huesca, very easy to get to from Barcelona. Huesca is a very nice place. The albergue in Huesca is run by the Association and is a modern building. When I stayed...

    Pamplona during San Fermin

Since Pamplona itself will be madness consider staying in Tiebas which is east of Pamplona on the Argones route. See more re the municipal albergue in Tiebas which exceptionally takes reservations in this Euroski post. http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es/albergue-de-tiebas See also this recent...

Places to stay in Pamplona during running of the bulls?

Just to give a shout-out for mspath's Tiebas suggestion. It's an albergue that doesn't get much traffic. A couple of years ago, when LTfit and I walked the Aragones, we stopped here to chat with the hospitalero. He told us he is happy to let pilgrims spend a couple of nights there during San...

    San Fermin 2016

This is too late for this year, but the hospitalero at the albergue in Tiebas (on the Aragones, not far from Puente la Reina) will let pilgrims stay several nights there during San Fermines. Since Tiebas is about 14 (?) kms from Pamplona, there are frequent buses back and forth, so peole can...

San fermin (running of the Bulls)

Here is a non-traditional suggestion that LTfit and I learned of while walking the Aragones last summer. https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/our-camino-aragonés-june-2015.36782/ On the stage between Monreal and Puente la Reina, there is an albergue in Tiebas. Municipally run, I...

    Pamplona

I just wanted to add some information that LT and I learned about this past summer while walking the Aragonés. The albergue at Tiebas, http://mundicamino.com/fichaalbergue.cfm?id=163&xname=Tiebas, like most albergues on the Aragonés, is under-utilized. The hospitalero told us that there are...

Our Camino Aragonés -- June 2015

Day 7 -- Monreal to Puente la Reina (33 km) Great walk. The first 14 or so to Tiebas are all on a hillside up and down, probably way more kms than the highway you could see off to the right, but way nicer. It goes through some little hamlets, but no services. There is a municipal albergue in...

Albergue near pamplona during running of the bulls

thanks Istvan... the site indicates that they do not take reservations... and I am worried to leave this first stop not booked due to San Fermin... do you have any ideas for places that I can book ahead? Thanks for your help. Patti

Albergue near pamplona during running of the bulls

I think Tiebas is not the best solution, it is a detour from Camino Frances and it is 87,5 kms from SJPdP, which seems a little bit long stage for the first day... I recommend the municipal albergue in Huarte (68,3 kms from JSPdP) which is almost on Camino Francés and they accept cyclists. And...

Thanks Margaret.... I will attempt to look up Tiebas on the web....

Albergue near pamplona during running of the bulls

For more on Pamplona albergues during St Fermin see this earlier Forum thread and check out this alternate possibility. You might avoid the city totally by biking to Tiebas to join the Camino Aragones. Tiebas has two albergues. See them on the Eroski site >> Albergue Concejo de Tiebas. Tiebas...
