    Logrono to Santander airport

Thank you Tincatinker, you always make me laugh. And your wise words helped me so much on previous Caminos. A leisurely bus journey and time in Santander is beginning to feel more attractive.

    Logrono to Santander airport

Thank you Donal, you are right, it might be hard to appreciate the journey if on such a tight deadline and I don't want to miss my flight. It's a Fri too so may be busier.

    Starting SJPDP

Orisson has been fully booked out for ages or I would have stayed there. I am also starting on Thursday and I plan to follow the herd over that first stretch. I like the suggestion of standing still and others will come 👣👣

Irish Girl, first time Camino, Sept 19th 2024, starting from Sarria

Elaine, you will have a great time and lots of new adventures in store. Great that you have lots of time to really get into it. I'm also from the emerald isle but didn't allow enough time for my first Camino 5 years ago, the Primitevo, and the 14 days was too little time. No recovery time when I...

    Logrono to Santander airport

I will be finishing in Logrono, staying overnight, and travelling to Santander airport to get a flight home on the 27th. Bus is due into Santander bus station at 13.25 and my Ryanair flight is at 15.40. I'm a bit concerned that my timings are a bit tight. I plan to get taxi to the airport which...

    Dad & Daughter(s)...Lessons Learned?

Buen Camino by Peter Murtagh and his 18 year old daughter Natasha would be a good read. They walked the Camino together and you can get both their perspectives.

Sleeping bag or liner in May?

Yes, less fumbling about with a sleeping bag. Hope you have a wonderful Camino. Lots of trial and error but then you find out what works best for you. It's all part of the fun too. ☘

Sleeping bag or liner in May?

I only had a liner and was sorry I didnt have a light sleeping bag as I found the liners awkard to get in and out of. Maybe if it had a zip but mine didn't. The sleeping bag can become a blanket when needed and in my opinion is more versatile. And it gives better cushioning on the plastic bed...

20% drop in pilgrim numbers at Roncesvalles

On my Camino last year I arrived in Santiago Sept 25th along with 641 other pilgrims. I checked up on the official figures for the same day this year and 885 arrived. I expected the figures to be much higher as in pre pandemic years.

Death of a German pilgrim on the Camino Frances

I pray for his family at this difficult time. May he rest in peace and find many beautiful Camino's to walk in his heavenly home. A reminder for me to live each day to the full and give thanks for the gift of life and the pilgrims God has given me.

Looking for Name of Priest Who Says English Mass at Cathedral de Compostela

Fr Manny, a most lovely man, he took us all out for coffee after Mass in Nov this year and I was very blessed hearing all his stories. His Mass was a highlight for me 2 years ago on another Camino. I think I will write to him too.

Advice needed — Primitivo at age 70

I did the Primitivo July 2019, my first Camino and the long descent after Hospidales was the biggest challenge. Also I did not allow enough time for rest days as I had a flight deadline to meet. My advice would be to give yourself plenty of time, rest well and enjoy the beautiful and...

Peter, I only took a few pictures of the hanging boats.

The church in Muxia is open, the ships are still hanging from the ceiling and we even got a stamp from the priest, an extra bonus
