Never regretted taking a 2 season sleeping bag that packs down small and quickly. They're not expensive, last one I bought was a cheapy brand on amazon uk

    Shoes on the CF

Be fine in trail runners imo. I have used them and coped well and have also walked twice in normal runners. Not sure they would do as well in very wet but they always dried well as long as your footwear is comfortable, you should be ok with any choice

Performance Fabrics - Truth or Myth?

quick drying clothing is beneficial to me... 100% cotton on my first trip caused me to have trouble drying stuff. The move to in expensive tech t shirts was a no brainer

    Lightweight Camino - Forum Input

I've never regretted taking my own pillow case, often stick some valuables in there while I sleep or in sleeping bag. Always take a few tablets ( pain relief, stomach stuff .. just in case both ways ) and blisters.. in case. I don't use poles ( personal choice ) and I've often gone in Road...

    Last Minute Shoe help

Added to this I have found the trail runners are not good if you are walking on very hard surfaces / tarmac a lot. The lugs seem to cause discomfort rather than the bounce you get ( and lose as you go ) with normal road runners

    Last Minute Shoe help

Wearing comfortable shoes is of the utmost importance as others have said. FWIW I have walked the CF in trail runners and normal road running type also. Every step my feet were thanking me for not lugging extra weight per step. That said if you told me you had comfortable boots.. then I...

Camino banner map - where to buy?

as David says above yep this would have been my suggestion as it's the one I bought in Arzua. Came in a protective plastic roll to. I did buy one in Santiago that you had, both are nice and if you have no luck online, perhaps a helpful fellow pilgrim and forum dweller might offer assistance. (...

May-June Camino Frances - Rain Gear & Eating ware

take the spork. Zip lock bags for food. If it rains, as others have pointed out... it's the time it takes stuff to dry that is more of the problem. Cover for your pack and shoes that you are used to.

What lens or lenses did you used most if you carried a DSLR or mirrorless camera?

The lense with the best range would be my guess. I know I will walk a camino one day and ship my pack and keep my camera and day bag with me so that's what I would advise somebody to do.. As for looking after valuables in albergues... same advice as I always give.. keep your good stuff on you...
