    If you’re ok with a wait; have a snack or drink and politely ask the bartender to call you a cab… it’s very easy : and considering they must sometimes come a good piece to pick you up don’t be surprised if it’s a bit pricey…

    Since you asked; personally a horrible idea - I had trouble with cell coverage; let alone WIFI… and in my opinion it would be extremely difficult trying to work from an albergue. And carrying a laptop in the heat??? Two weeks: SJDP to Burgos (plenty of time) and it’s a spectacular scenic route...

    On my second Camino from Sarria to Santiago I was really sick and had to use taxis : no problem at all for a local bar/hotel/cafe to call u a taxi and get you to where you need to be. Be patient if you’re in a small place it may take a good while for the taxi to come and it may cost you 25/30...

    Goretex is a waste of money?

    For my two cents opinion : this has not been my experience. I bought the REI brand Gortex extremely light rain jacket and it is fantastic! Breathable for me ( and im always hot) walked SJDP to Burgos (sept/oct 2022) Sarria to Santiago (march 23) a complete lifesaver and totally worth the money!

I read IVAR almost daily and am always put out by the frequent commentary from the “purists” and/or repeat pilgrims who state: do this don’t do that - blah blah blah…. I understand that change is difficult and accepting change...
