    And now to the backpack..

In my experience you just have to add their Priority option , with one backpack and priority option i never had any issues with Ryanair or Wizzair .

    RIP Theros adventures

I just read an article about the death of couple . I recognised the couple from their you tube channel Theros adventures . They have really nice Camino videos . One of the few del Norte videos that I have watched from start to finish actually. Rest in peace ...

Is this the right Camino for me? - Planning September 2024

I’ve done Primitivo when I was in my worst shape 3 years ago ( home office + lockdown = 18 kg overweight ) and I had 2 inguinal hernia operations previous year . It is more challenging Camino but it is shorter and you can combine it with 3-4 days of walks to finistere and Muxia - not bad for...

    Preparing my camino del norte

This year I walked the end of April to 25th may . Temperature was between 15 to 24 degrees. Not much rain except last 5 days in Galicia . Most days were really pleasant to walk not too cold not too hot with some drizzling. Some mornings were cold and windy so I wore my puffy jacket but in an...

    My new backpack from Gregory

So little update, Gregory’s suspension system is superb . Even with 5 to 6 kg of load I am doing 25 kms per day and I have no issues. I brought rain gear and puffy jacket and everything fits well in the backpack . Plenty of pockets . I was prepared to offload some of the gear if I feel that the...

Second thoughts on completing del Norte

Thanks everyone for the replies, tomorrow morning I will fly to Bilbao and continue from there on . Funny thing is that I was supposed to fly on 27th but I missed my 3 a.m flight(just woke up few hours later ) :) it is a good thing actually because I have minor shin splints inflammation for a...

Second thoughts on completing del Norte

Hi pilgrims , last year i had some spare days and i walked from Irun to Santander , so my plan for this year was to start in Bilbao and walk to Santiago in 24 days . It turned out that i can squeeze 4 more days and take 30 days of paid leave so it makes it 28 days of walking if i want to walk...

    Topo Wearers!

I have done the Frances wearing ultraventures 3 in 2023 . Half size up was enought for me . I was wearing injinji socks(trail running series) , no blisters but i rarely get one tbh .

    My new backpack from Gregory

My first Camino in 2018 was a great experience except for one part - the equipment . I was extremely unlucky with my choice of shoes and backpack :) I solved my shoe problem when I bought Keen Newport sandals from the Caminoteca store in Pamplona and walked with them until Finisterra . I wish I...

How light was your backpack for Camino Frances (800 km)

Last year my backpack weight was between 4-5 kg food and water included . I was with Mammut ducan 30 l . The backpack is 890grams which is pretty good for backpack with frame imho. I also carried 1 l of water . Compared to most of the pilgrims on Frances I was ultralight I guess :)

    Shoe choice

I have a pair of hoka transport and overall they are great I use them for my daily walks 10 kms +, the outsole runs out pretty quickly and I would like to have more space for my fingers… but for Camino especially 2 + weeks I will go with something different.

    Shoe choice

Me too , but the traverse is almost identical to ultraventure pro . It appears that the pursuit it the new Altra killer… :)

Long pants and long sleeves in summer? Smart or big mistake?

I would recommend a sun hoodie with upf50 . I like walking with shorts but last 3 Camino I bring https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-terrebonne-joggers/24540.html?dwvar_24540_color=NUVG&cgid=mens-pants-jeans

Need help planning stages after Valenca do Minho

    Hiking shoes or sandals?

Peregrine 12 have rock plate if I am not mistaken , try something with more cushion and lower drop - 5mm . Hoka Topo have such models . Sandals -Keen Newport H2 , in 2018 I walked almost entire Frances with pair of them .
