    The Taking of Gloves Paradox

I thought the taking of gloves paradox was that if you took them, that was the guarantee that you wouldn’t need them. Like me last year!

Spanish speaking mothers will point you toward the cure all: “Bee-bah-poe-RÚ”.** Don’t put it on blisters or open cuts! ** a/k/a Vick’s Vapo Rub!

    Stamps Question Again

Wendy dear, we all walk our own Camino. For some, the burden is lighter. For others, it is just too heavy to bear alone. Be confident in your wisdom to share your burden, and thankful that so many others are willing to share theirs and yours. I bet Jesus, or Santiago, or Buddha/Allah/The Great...

    56 y/o, traveling alone & so nervous

...last year, and there are plenty of people around. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery! I used Buen Camino and Wise Pilgrim apps and found them both useful. Also, take the *right* path to Portomarín. The left side is for professional athletes and other crazy people! 🤣 Buen Camino!

PNC has a new “black card” that doesn’t charge fees for currency conversion or foreign ATMs. (Supposedly; I haven’t tried it out yet.)

No in Portuguese is “não”. The word “no” in Portuguese means “in the” or “on the”. Cheers from your friendly neighborhood translator!

    Update on my Camino Plans

Maybe do a shorter Camino and ship that CPAP ahead? Last year I took my full-sized beast and packed her in a camera case inside a small hard-side suitcase that I shipped ahead of me each day. I walked with a 20 liter daypack and bought a bottle of water each day for the beast. Don’t do your...

Paulo Coelho's "The Pilgrimage" to be made into a Netflix movie

I really enjoyed the Alquimist. But I found The Pilgrim just “weird”. And I’m saying this as a former student of Latin American realismo mágico… Like was the sword really that important? Perhaps some of those newly-legal ~special~ candies would help one really get into it? I didn’t like the...

    Coffee

#TeamCoil4Ever you gotta do what you gotta do. Some of us need caffeine in order to get up and go find some caffeine! (Also useful for instant oatmeal, couscous, etc.)

Red poppies galore in early May last year and Galicia is full of fragrant yellow toxo bushes in mid and late May, fields of wildflowers too!

    Sundays and public holidays

It’s never a bad idea to have snacks! If you are hungry for dinner before 7 or 8pm, you might be out of luck in most places. The dry bag strapped to my pack always contained a fresh bread and cheese, plus little packets of condiments. And a banana. And nuts. Buen Camino!

    What about “té con leche”?😀

Here’s my suggestion to you: in the mornings, ask for “vino tinto” 🤣
