You can do these stages described in Gronze. You basically drop down to Oviedo from Villaviciosa as if you were going to do the Primitivo, then walk from Oviedo to Avilés.

No. In settings I have the map set to "outdoor" which I think is better for showing the hiking trails.

It doesn't have to be expensive. You have to decide what you want insurance to cover and what you don't mind "self insuring." I buy my flights using points, so I don't pay to cover my "prepaid" costs of flights, hotels, etc. I mainly want the medical, repatriation, and trip interruption...
I did the Camino del Norte in 2018 and again last year. The days that I remember being difficult weren't as hard as I remembered, and days that I remember being fairly easy almost killed me. I think part of it had to do with whether I was walking alone or with someone else .
