@amancio, thank you very much for your very detailed post and kind responses to everyone on this thread. I am coming to Malaga on 27 March and will have until 3 April to walk. I was hoping to get from Malaga to Cordoba to have the sense of accomplishment of going from one city to the other, but...

Almeria-Granada, Late March?

Alas, the only time I'll be able to do that trek will be from about March 28-April 3. I've got to meet my wife in Malaga on the 4th or I will be in the doghouse (which is not as nice as an albergue) :) Buen Camino, and hope some other travelers are interested to join me!
