    Question for Brooks Ghost wearers

I had a succession of ghosts over the last few years. They would last me my usual 800 km pilgrim walks, then the profile was gone and I would replace them I truly believed I was in shoe heaven. The last pair I bought in my usual size was narrower and smaller and I had to buy new shoes after a...

Via Baltica. A long walk through Germany, a short report.

I echo your statements. Walked this route about 10 years ago after the Via Regia. Both are great options with really good pilgrim infrastructures.

    Aging On The Camino

All the very best to you in Nepal. You raise these interesting points re aging and the Camino...I started in 2006 aged 51 and am now 69 years of age. Except for 2 years, one being during covid times, I walked pilgrim routes all over Europe every year. A couple of times , my now deceased husband...

Pilgrims from Australia and the wonderful New Zealand

I am totally addicted to walking the Caminos of Europe. I started with the CF in 2006 aged 51 and have walked a route almost every year including during covid. Just got back from walking the St Olavsleden in Sweden and Portugal. Until this year flights were cheap. In 2023, I got a return flight...

    Rain...rain pants?

I have walked 21 caminos all over Europe. So far I have only ever worn shorts or 3/4 pants. In height of summer, I use Sea to Summit poncho, super light. In Spring or Autumn Altus Light. I like the cool rain on my legs and they dry fast. Once I used a gortex jacket and pack cover. Hated that...

Senior Walking the Portuguese Coastal Route in the Rain: Advice Needed

I would wear gortex shoes. I always do, as I don't like wet feet. It works well for me. I walked the route from Porto last year aged 67. It is very easy.

    St Olavsleden

Ok. I struggled with the amount of roadwalking on the Vezelay Route this year...how feasible is the Gulbransleden for a mature 69 year old, average fitness person???

    St Olavsleden

Thank you so much! Very valuable advice Doug. I walked the Vezelay Route this year...not my favourite, too much road walking and very flat, some sad villages and towns, but fab pilgrim accommodation. Dogs were troublesome at times.

    St Olavsleden

Hi. I am considering this for July next year, solo. Is it good, I am scared about possible bear encounters. What about weather and packing list? Usually organise my own accommodations. Can I wing it with accommodations or should I use Nordic Pilgrim service? Would love some input. Thank you!
