    Thanks for that information! I will continue going to a Vodafone store when I need to make a payment. I have an Android phone and cannot download the Vodafone app as it is not available in Canada.

    I had the same problem with the Vodafone app when I was in Spain. I'm Canadian. I am home now, and just went into settings in the Play Store app. It shows my country is Canada. I believe this is what you have to change to Spain in order to download the Spanish phone apps.

    I used travel.orange.com. ordered the esim and it came by email with instructions on how to set up the phone so it worked as soon as I landed in Europe. I only used it for 2 weeks as Vodafone had better deals in Spain.

    We left our guide book behind at a hotel once and the hotel sent it to us thru jacotrans. We paid him when he dropped it off. You know where it is, so if the albergue has it they might be able to ship it to you.

    1. There are companies, including the post office that pick up bags and drop them off each day, but they are picking up and then driving west. They drop off in the next few towns along the way. I don't imagine there is any way they could then pick up your bag and go in the opposite direction...

    In 2019 I was one of the first in line and received the free lunch. There was no choice, but the meal was delicious. A pilgrim meal - soup, main course of fish and potatoes and dessert with wine. You are right that it was before the restaurant opened for paying customers, but it was really nice.

    Unfortunately for you, if your phone is locked and Sprint refuses to unlock it, you won't be able to put a Spanish sim card in it. Canadian cell phones cannot be locked anymore. You need to check the laws in the USA and check your contract with Sprint. I dont know the US laws.
