    A friend wants to come on the Portuguese camino with me, but long-distance walking in a day is not her strong point. If we were leave Porto using the coastal route, head inland at Villa do Conde to follow the central route to Santiago, would there be albergues less than 20 km apart?

    Is there a consensus that it is better to start at Pamplona than SJPP next Monday 29th April? The conditions sound bad, with no view worth mentioning. Should I phone the pilgrim's office in SJPP on Sunday to check before catching the bus from Pamplona to SJPP on Monday?

    Luggage transfer

    I read that municipal auberges will not accept luggage transferred by courier. Is this correct, if so is there a way around this? I prefer to stay at municipal auberges and carry my backpack since they are cheaper, my traveling companion prefers to transfer her luggage by courier.

    Thanks. I booked a hotel near the airport as we are arriving at 8 pm, likely to get to the hotel about 10 pm. How long should I allow to get through immigration and reserve a shuttle bus? two hours?

    Any recommendations for a convenient budget hotel in Madrid? Arriving at Adolfo Suárez airport at 8 pm, and catching a train from Puerta de Atocha the next day at 10:35 am. Looking for a convenient budget hotel, probably near the subway. Flying from Thailand so I just want to sleep.

    What is the long-term forecast for the Napolean Route? I will start from SJPP on 29 April, is rain expected to last, even if the route is open? I am unable to find a forecast longer than 14 days.
