International Calling Card - any recommendations?

Others may have already responded, buy most likely your phone can support two SIMs (two services), iPhone 14 has two eSim "slots". I keep my main provider and just purchase another plan from a provide like Airalo and make that your primary plan. When done, just delete the Sim and go back to...

International Calling Card - any recommendations?

No it’s fine. Just checking your weren’t on a UK company contract such as O2 who give free calls from USA to UK. I guess first place to check is on TBs call home rate from USA. An eSIM will be cheaper but if only making one call..

International Calling Card - any recommendations?

...Tello account and cancel before your plan ends. You can park the number they give you for a small monthly fee. I've put my Tello number on my eSIM which normally is free, my permanent number is kept on the physical SIM. If you don't have a dual SIM phone (I assumed you did) I don't know how...

Verizon "UU" plan includes international coverage

...original point: IF you're on Verizon US, and IF you're not ready to change right now, and IF you're on an older plan, and IF you're about to go on Camino or other international trip, talk to a vzw rep about getting this UU plan so you don't have to shell out $100 for the month or deal with an...

Verizon "UU" plan includes international coverage

...I switched back to one of the lower cost plans. We have 4 phones on our plan. It is a bit more costly to use the UU plan than getting local esim, but with work and elderly parents I need to be easily reachable in an emergency. I don't want to complicate things by changing my phone number...

Verizon "UU" plan includes international coverage

...threads where this is mentioned, but this might be helpful for others on verizon using the search function. I was figuring I would get an Orange esim or similar when I arrive in Europe this coming March. Or, switch to T-Mobile. Or shell out the $100 for a month of international coverage...

...most of my travel. worked well in Paris, and a few other areas. I also use Trainline for Train tickets such as my trip from CDG to St Jean via Bayonne. Used it to get around Europe in 22. also look into getting an ESIM chip for your phone as US based cell carriers like Verizon? ouch...

How do you save your iPhone content (Picture & Videos) while on the trail?

...my T-Mobile phone with my normal plan and seldom pay more than $10 additional over a month in Europe. Utilizing WhatsApp app and WiFi. I sometimes buy an eSIM for just the high speed data for maps, etc. That was 39€ my last trip, much cheaper than adding international to a us plan. My thoughts.

    Verizon’s International Plan Debacle

Oh, no, I have also gotten very accustomed to asking the Vodafone staff to take out my SIM card and put in a Spanish SIM. I have never had a problem, it has worked like a charm! This is actually a reason for me to continue to use my ancient iphone11 as long as I can!

    Verizon’s International Plan Debacle

I used to get local physical SIM cards for my old iPhone. Worked great. My new iPhone only uses eSIM, no physical SIM slot. I wish they'd give customers a choice. Last month my Airalo eSIM gave me trouble on Via Podiensis. I was able to fix it with their support staff using WhatsApp and wifi in...

Reviving a dormant Orange cellular plan

Thanks to everyone for your responses to my post. Looks like I can return to Spain with the slim hope of reactivating my existing eSIM, but with the expectation of having to get a new one. Buen Camino

I posted links to three videos describing it and the app here: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/esim-for-spain.84326/#post-1205342 If your daughter wants LOTS of data the other big name is Holafly and may be the better bet though more expensive...

Reviving a dormant Orange cellular plan

I've used Airalo in France, Greece and Spain and I really like it. It is data only though, no calls. Use WhatsApp for calls. On the Camino I use a SIM card with a Spanish number to call albergues when I am not on wifi. So it will depend on how long she is in Japan to determine which is better...

Reviving a dormant Orange cellular plan

As an aside has anybody here experience with an Airalo eSIM? My younger daughter is off on a trip to Japan and it's been suggested as a "good bet".

    Verizon’s International Plan Debacle

I just checked the Vodafone Spain website and my statement about their account staying active for two years is incorrect. On their website they say that if you have six months from when you last recharged your balance, after that you have 30 days to get a refund of any outstanding balance on...

    Verizon’s International Plan Debacle

Yes, but she could also just buy a local plan from Vodafone Spain and use both numbers. SIM vs eSIM is irrelevant, both offer the same services. If you really want to you can get a data only SIM. Most people don't bother because for the same money or less you can get data, voice and SMS...
