    Bank verification with Spanish SIM

...phone is locked to the providers network) it is usually a limitation on the phone. THE PHONE NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT DUAL PHYSICAL OR TWO ESIMS. My Motorola supports dual sims and was provided unlocked, so I just need to select the network I wish to use. Incoming calls use the sim number...

...to upgrade to a later version, but I noticed that it wont’ accept an iOS version beyond 16, (planned obsolescence?) and it is not enabled to use eSIMs. My current service provider is Verizon, and I do have the $10/day international plan which I used once when I visited South America for a...

SIM Card doubt - Arriving from Paris

...on AMAZON. I'm also probably going to buy a new phone soon since the screen on my phone is damaged. I'm going to look into phone capable of multiple eSIM. That way I can have one phone capable of two phone numbers. My daughter did this on a recent trip to Italy and she said it worked well.

    Bank verification with Spanish SIM

Adding a little bit here; the iPhone 14s sold in the US (maybe even North America) do not accept physical SIM cards. They use eSIM only (they can support up to eight but only two at once). It's likely that more phones in the future will be like this. P. S. My primary bank has an app that...

    Bank verification with Spanish SIM

Question… I’ve read with interest several threads on using a Spanish SIM or eSIM while on the Camino and I’m curious how people handle two factor authentication when logging into a bank site for example. Doesn’t that authentication code go to the phone’s registered number and if so how do you...

SIM Card doubt - Arriving from Paris

Thanks for the information, Trecile Unfortunately my phone does not accept eSIM, so I'll have to use a regular SIM Card. Anyway, good to know that WiFi is not so rare, specially until I get to Pamplona. Best Regards,

SIM Card doubt - Arriving from Paris

You will find wifi at virtually all bars and albergues - it won't be rare at all. If your phone accepts an eSIM you could set one up that will work on both France and Spain with a company like Airalo https://www.airalo.com/europe-esim

    Phone connection on VDLP

...Whatsapp as necessary, and to check ahead for accommodations when walking. I can't imagine paying $10/day ($300/mo) when Spanish plans are so simple and inexpensive. It's just a matter of switching the SIM card. If the phone does not take a physical SIM card, there are eSIM options available.

    Phone connection on VDLP

My U.S. AT&T 14 Pro iPhone doesn't have a physical SIM card. It uses eSIM. I don't know if I can use another carrier's services directly through my eSIM.

    eSIM card questions

This is partially correct. It ignores the fact that buying a data only eSIM from a tiny company called Airalo provides less functionality at higher cost with considerably less customer support than buying either a SIM or eSIM from a major network provider in Spain that will happily ship the SIM...

    eSIM card questions

...not only Spain to France but anywhere in Europe. Two things are required for there to be no problems: 1 the service plan associated with the eSIM/SIM must allow for roaming. 2 your phone settings must be adjusted to allow for both data and (if used) cellular phone services roaming. All the...

    eSIM card questions

If you have a newer smartphone you can upload an esim. This allows you to switch between your current carrier and the international esim while abroad. I used this on my CF last fall. If you're unfamiliar with this process, you can find great information online. Buen suerte y buen Camino!

...and 800 international minutes for €15, for example. Lasts 28 days and is renewable in 28 day chunks. It is also possible to preorder your eSIM/SIM and have it delivered to your home so that you can configure your phone before you leave home. Personally, I always buy my service from a major...

    eSIM card questions

Simplest is to buy a Spanish SIM or eSIM card from a major network provider like Vodafone. This will give you a local Spanish phone number, heaps of data and will last for 28 days with the option of renewing for as long as you want via additional 28 day periods. This will allow and (usually...

    eSIM card questions

The iPhone 12 is a dual-SIM iPhone with full support for a physical nano-SIM card and also an eSIM. This means that you can use two lines simultaneously. So, if your phone is unlocked, you could keep your US number and configure the phone to use the physical SIM for phone calls but not for data...

IPhone12. I switched from Verizon and own the phone outright. I don’t believe it’s locked through current provider Visible.

...Here's one post https://community.visible.com/t5/Need-help/Traveling-Internationally/m-p/24454 One other thing - if you get a data only eSIM you will not have a Spanish phone number, but you will be able to use WhatsApp and Viber with the data plan You can use an online service like Airalo...
