    Unfortunately, you'll have to take something warmer in October just in case. You could possibly get around that by just planning to stay in hotels nights when the weather gets cold. But sometimes the Albergues are surprisingly cold.

    I concur with @dreaming as I walked at the same time. First half of October was very hot. But, of course the weather has been very hot and miss this year so it would be impossible to say really. It was snowing over 2000m near Leon last week as an example, which wouldn't be odd in times past.

    I walked the CF last October. Two weeks of hot weather above 30 degrees Celsius and two weeks of solid rain. I don't wear shorts walking because of skim cancers however changed into merino wool T-shirt and shorts after showering in the hot weather plus wore them to bed.

    My wife and I walked from SJPP to Burgos in the first half of October a couple years ago. We worn shorts walking nearly every day. Actually hit some pretty hot weather in October. So, I’d definitely bring shorts and leave one pair of long pants out. It’s a great time of year to walk. Buen Camino!
