Almeria to Granada Camino Route & Órgiva: Changes and Accommodation
Just walked from Almeria in October. Orgiva is south of the Sierra Nevada national park. The Camino runs north of that park. You could take transport to either Almeria or Granada and pick it up from there. And there may be backpacking trails that cross the park, but I'm not sure about...- Jo Jo

How old is your wall map? I have a map from 2016 that shows the Camino not passing within 50 km of Órgiva. Still, I expect you could find some wonderful walks around there! Órgiva is not mentioned often on the forum, but here are a few posts from 2012 - there is no suggestion that Órgiva is on...- C clearly

Advice and info needed
Thank you for your reply it has given me hope for the future to do the Camino . I understand where your coming from as when I visit my friend in Orgiva Spain in the mountains by breathing improves and I also find I don't need my inhalors as much .- Hopefull

Via la Plata in 30?
To escape excessive heat I walked from Orgiva, two days walk south of Granada, to Zamora in April and it was in fact quite chilly (windy and wet) for much of it. ...Sandra, that's a good suggestion. I'll see how my aging body is managing and may cut down the Cordoba stretch. Yes I plan to walk from Orgiva. Dear Perigrinator, Nice to know that there is at least one other pilgrim on the road in that period. Are you walking from Orgiva? I spent a nice week in Orgiva a few years ago, on an olive farm. Hi Ria Well you might meet me. I am also traveling from the end of March. I live in Orgiva which is two or three days walk south of Granada and the weather this year has been rather dry and is very pleasant at the moment so from a non agricultural point of view let's hope that it remains so...- Perigrinator
