These are the best family camino videos I've seen... and so delightful, with great photography and editing. What you are doing for your kids is priceless and wonderful. They will cherish these memories and experiences, plus gain resilience and strength for all their lives. Be proud of your...

LIVE from the Camino Wise Pilgrim Guide— on the Invierno

Thanks for the photos. We saw the Diamondi church in mid Sept, and I'd love to see inside, plus ... ... would be fun to stay in the albergue next door. Oh dear, I'm now dreaming about the Invierno again (for 3rd time) after only one month! That's crazy, right? No bad dog experiences at all...

Barxa de Lor — Pensión Pacita

@el Sol I hope you were able to contact Casa Pacita and to stay successfully. I managed to make contact with Jose Luis with the email ... pensionpacita@hotmail.com ... and four of us stayed there on Sept 17. I had no joy with the phone number but the problem may have been with my Australian...

    Stamps- missing a few days

As @Robo said, it's not too difficult, but you may need to ask for stamps on the Invierno. They are not always offered automatically. Also keep a watch in smaller villages for locals offering 'buen camino' stations.. with an available stamp on a window ledge, 'honesty' table or doorway. There's...

Planning a “25 km or less” Camino on the Invierno

I agree @VNwalking …Villavieja, the albergue, hamlet, beautiful walk up to the castle and Cornatel Castillo itself, are highlights of the Invierno. A great first day 2x for me. And it can be part of a great first day for those walking longer stages.

My buff has been so necessary!

No @Anniesantiago you didn’t dream it… I have my 2010 or 11 camino buff with me again on the Invierno. Love it and all its uses. Thanks for all the ideas @Rav

Goodness Laurie, how the Invierno has changed since yours and Reb's early forays into this little known way. Thank you for pioneering.

LIVE from the Camino On my way tomorrow, part 2

Love to see Asun's video... I also stayed with her in 2018 and she was extra kind when I sprained an ankle, with 'magic' treatment and a speedy car ride down the mountain to Quiroga. I'll try and visit Asun in Sept, though I'll be with 3 other peregrinas. .. and look out for Casimiro too...

LIVE from the Camino John’s Invierno July 2023

Hi John, Are you staying in the big municipal albergue in Quiroga? I have fond memories of it and of the town. Buen camino from Oz.

LIVE from the Camino John’s Invierno July 2023

This is wonderful @John Saxon... thanks for sharing. I'll be following along as I'm redoing the Invierno with 3 friends in Sept. Have noted your recommendation for Casa Rosa in Domingo Florez. Buen camino.

Book about the Via de la Plata

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3247283-walking-the-camino Tony Kevin walked the Mozarabe and Via de la Plata in 2006. His book is excellent.

Hospederia San Martin Pinario are the rooms in hostal ok

This stream is making me homesick for Santiago. Love it.... We stayed in other hostals and hotels, then discovered San Martin. (Thanks Laurie) Wouldn't stay anywhere else. So pilgrimish. Basic yes, but clean, the pilgrim rooms, and I love being up under the eaves with seagulls, sunsets and...

    Camino Sanabres Oct 2021

Well done @Tezza and thank you for your post. Seeing those place names made me surprisingly emotional, with happy and sad tears. My story is very similar to yours....first camino from Salamanca to Santiago back in 2006, similar age and experience, similar stages and struggles. Since then walked...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Galicia Xunta Covid Cert check

To be honest, I'm shocked that any albergue would or could allow anyone to stay without proof of full vaccination.

    Death of Felisa’s daughter, María

Thank you @sillydoll for sharing your story. It brought tears to my eyes... so special. I'm sorry for your loss and for the family's loss. I hope and trust that Felisa and Maria gained as much from their camino ministering as they gave to everyone else. RIP

Planning a “25 km or less” Camino on the Invierno

Oops, I made a mistake. Sorry everyone. I've now checked old guide books (as I should have done before writing) and photo album and it wasn't Pico Sacro we went up. The old Ben Cole guide book calls it a 'castro' , just before the big descent into Puente Ulla. I should have realised Pico...

Planning a “25 km or less” Camino on the Invierno

Sad this camino is coming to an end but nice to re-experience those feelings even just a little bit from afar. Have felt like we've been on a journey together, loved reminiscing with you all, and grateful to @peregrinna2000 for leading us out of muddy holes, drenching rain, angry dogs and...

Planning a “25 km or less” Camino on the Invierno

I like these options @peregrina2000. Those bigger towns in the final days are not my favourites and I find them hard to negotiate, so only having one day remaining before needing to be in SdC, I walked to Silleda, then took a taxi to Ponte Ulla for my final night.
