    I think it's good to collect a pilgrim passport from the Cathedral in Irun and I'm very glad we stayed the first night in Pasajes de San Juan. Getting any further would have been impossible for me or so I felt at the time

    I am 70 now. I did Camino del Norte in my 60 s over several stages. The first day after Irun, to Pasajes is absolutely beautiful but a steep and long climb especially if you're not prepared in advance.     Industrial Walking along the Norte...

    I walked el Norte over several holidays but did walk most if it. Good idea to stay first night at Pasajes de San Jusn. Get there early as it only used to have only 14 beds. I enjoyed the industrial walk out from Bilbao. Just see as much as you possibly can as there are so many beautiful things...

    Camino walk intensity -advice/opinions needed

    This is great advice Woody. The first time I was walking the Norte, my pack was 8 kg. I just couldn't cope. Eventually I got it down to just below 6 kg and ut was the biggest thing that helped and made walking pleasurable I like the sound of the walking by the sea and Porto so may look into this

    I like she follows sea shells comment above. On one of my early caminos. I moticed after a week my stomach was well toned and nearly flat. This is a result I can't get in UK even including daily work outs at the gym
