what Camera option are people using

So true so true. It's the people that make the memories.

what Camera option are people using

Isn't the sensor size the determining factor of dynamic range quality? Upsizing pixel count using internal software helps but it all starts with the native image. Sensors in camera phones are pretty small (doesn't mean they aren't good).

what Camera option are people using

After 4 caminos the best camera I took was a Sony A6000 with the standard zoom lens. I used my phone sometimes - it was ok. The Sony is discontinued and now cheap used, or the more current versions are A6100, A6400, A6700. It takes APS-C images at 24 MPX which means there is a lot of...

    Flights out of Santiago

And the Renfe ticket included the trip from the Madrid airport to Charmartin - but you have to take the Renfe train to Charmartin, not the Metro. In Santiago you arrive at the downtown train station right near (a 5 euro cab ride) the old section of Santiago. We are staying next to Abastos. One...

    Bus from Muxia to Santiago

Asking for an update on this travel from Muxia to Santiago? Is there a bus from Muxia to Santiago on Oct 16, 2022 or 17? Monbus' website does not show buses after October 15, 2022.

COVID Spanish entry requirements changed - no SpTH form/QR needed

From the Spanish Government's website - Looks like just a vaccination and booster https://www.sanidad.gob.es/en/profesionales/saludPublica/ccayes/alertasActual/nCov/spth.htm "Any of these three certificates (vaccination, recovery, diagnostic test) may be used by travellers to enter Spain...

    Phone question for a newby

I have used Google Fi for years all over Europe and recently Central America. Plane lands, phone goes on and mostly it connects within a few minutes (sometimes an hour). However, I use a Google Phone which might be important. Check with Google about whether you phone can use the Fi Sim Card...

    Your favorite camino hat!

Tilley -- My 20+ yr old LTM8, which was Made in Canada and is still made there, has four caminos, and thousands of other miles and lots of wear in the yard. Water Repellent. Countless washings. Still looks almost new. Guaranteed for life. My son, 2 caminos, and thousands of miles, has a...

What is your perspective on this rather metaphysical question?

    2. I am older than you. I regret much more what I did not do than what I did. As for the Camino, the spirituality it elicits in Pilgrims is awe inspiring. Will that spirituality remain if you are actually living for months is N.W. Spain? Or might that spirituality lead you a different...

    cell phone on camino frances

I used Glympse to do that so people could see where I was in real time and how far I walked. Thought it was pretty nice!

    cell phone on camino frances

Several options. Google Fi purchased here in the USA will allow you to use data and voice in Spain and almost anywhere else in the world. The overseas service supposedly isn't expensive - cheaper than buying a local SIM card. But you have to have a Fi phone. The cheapest for sale now is a...

    From USA

It was possible to leave in the afternoon from A Coruna to Heathrow on Vueling and arrive in time to catch a late afternoon flight back to the USA. There is a bus and/or a train from direct from Santiago to A Coruna so transport is easy. Transport time was an hour +/_. And allows for an...

Best way to travel from Santiago de Compostela to London

Several years ago I flew from one of the outlying London airports to SCQ in the afternoon. I think it was Ryanair. Then 6 days later, returned from A Coruna to Heathrow in the afternoon on Vueling. There was some timing issue flying in and out of Santiago, but I don't remember the exact...

Public transport from Santiago to Muxia

My son and I walked from Fisterre to Muxia last May. A really nice walk. We used two easy days (Fisterre to Lires then on to Muxia) and throughly enjoyed it. But I suggest you walk from Fisterre to Muxia - the climb out of Muxia is tough. From Fisterre the altitude gain and loss is the...

One week on the Camino Frances

Why not walk the Camino Ingles? It fits the distances, and has glimpses on almost all the different terrains on the different Caminos along with the excitement of seeing the spires of the Cathedral as you approach Santiago. Another suggestion, since the Compostela isn't that important would be...

Pack transport on the Camino del Norte

We used the post office in the past (rain, heat or taking a break). Sometimes we just sent a bag on ahead and sometimes our backpacks also. It was inexpensive and quite efficient on two different 'Ways' . We did not walk El Norte, however, their website says they do provide transport on the...
