    Hospital Bill from Spanish Hospital

Yes, that’s a good idea. Haha. I’m Canadian. At the same time, Spain hospital asked for id with address and that’s where the bill went. I note your comment. I should be more complete. Thank you

How hot is too hot to walk?

Just finished Portugues coastal and visited Zaragoza afterwards. Ouch, 45C. Spent my time in the shade beside the swimming pool. Coastal weather was nice. No rain for two weeks though.

    Does it get better?

The Norte way broke me. When I finished, I was very satisfied with my goal of finishing. I suggest to take it slow. The first week is tough and because of the first week, the rest is tough. I’m a better man today just because of that Camino. If your wife and yourself finish, you should have...

    Free medical treatment for pilgrims?

Hi Margaret Hospital services are free. I went to the hospital in Burgos three weeks ago with a back problem and it was suggested I receive physiotherapy. It cost me for the physiotherapist. Hospitals don’t charge. However, I had a similar injury as you described, three years ago in...

Municipal albergues allowing large group to reserve 😡

My girlfriend and I walked to Ponferrada and ended. There were so many pilgrims. The municipal albergue was pretty much full and going forward there are less spot for several paths coming together. We had to walk four full days 30+ km to get a bed. That’s four occasions. I can do this but...

...and the Camino gets busier every year

We start at SJPDP in May 1 or 2. I’ve been to SJPDP but I really haven’t seen it, just showed up, slept and walked. Is it worth walking to Orisson for the night? Can you tell me the cost for the night and if it’s full, are we out of luck? Please advise if you know. MJ

Walking 21 days from Pamplona to Santiago. Is it ok?

I’ve seen it done. I’m a heavy set guy and I did St Jean to Santiago in 31 days and could have done better. Injuries and illnesses could hamper you but if you’re fit, organized and goal oriented, it’s definitely doable. Sorry, I’m starting from St Jean May 1 or 2. Good luck

Getting through custom/immigration at the Madrid airport

Good morning camino0515-it. Give yourself an hour to 90 minutes. I’m not sure what terminal I’ve flown into but I believe that’s be an average. We arrive March 27, 2017 and bused it to Seville and off hiking within 36 hours. Watch out for the terrain at that time of year. It’s pretty wet...

Walking the CF for the Second Time?

The CF was my first back in September 2016. After the CF, I walked Portugal, both all in 9 weeks and then I was addicted. I went back 5 months later, March 2017 and walked VDLP and Portugal backwards and then September 2017, I walked the Northe and Madrid. Every time I walk a Camino that runs...

Santiago! I’m taking time off after Santiago though. Skiing ⛷ for the winter in Canada . I might try working again, just for fun while my injuries heel. Do you have a future Camino in mind?

    Best camino so far!

Nah, this is my sixth Camino in 14 months. I’m losing the big effects. When I’m doing me this Camino, I’ll be over 4000 kms walked in six months of walking in a fourteen month period. Try walking from Lisboa to Santiago in October/ November. I knew zero Portuguese. Ha! This Camino is...

    Best camino so far!

I’ll be in Sahagun on Sunday. My Camino experience is about to change once again! On the Norte route in September/ October we had a dozen each nite on average. The Madrid way, I’ve met three total and I’m three days from the Frances way. Hmmmm....interesting even in October/November

    Best camino so far!

That’s a pretty good memory. I stayed in Coca and Alcazaren and you are correct, the beds are pretty bad for sure. I’ll follow your recommendations from there but will not go to Valladolid as the weather is changing and want to keep going. I didn’t stay in Segovia. That day, I walked 35 kms...

    Best camino so far!

I’m on day four now and I have to say, besides leaving Madrid, this path is awesome! I’ve done vdlp, Frances, Portugal twice and just finished Norte this past week. This trail is awesome compared to the rest. Come and enjoy. One thing, it’s the middle of October and 30 C . Really hot but I...
