Consider Le Chemin de Ste Jacques, from Le Puy to SJPP. Much less crowded. And thru France. Food, ***sigh*** Greetings from Austalia

Alert Women walking alone - considering staying near the road before Astorga (after San Justo de la Vega)

Given the economic importance of the Camino, one would hope the Politza would do something. But pants around his ankles, and you carrying a pole, I would be very tempted to whack him where it hurts.

A stay of greater than 90 days

When are you thinking of doing this precisely 'next year'? I am thinking of doing the same. I realise than since Brexit, I will be more reliant on my Aussie passport, and I was thinking of school in Malaga (I am already quite fluent, as lived in Barcelona as a 14 year old) and taking a quick...

Consider walking the Via Podanasis in France, Le Puy to SJPP. It's beautiful, well organized and NOT crowded. The trains in France are fast, cheap and clean. Only been on better in Japan.

Why do my feet hurt? Metatarsal tales

I have very mobile metatarsals and the joints scrunch together (my non-medical description) This is Morton's Neuroma. The nerves are scrunched and become inflamed. You do realize that the padding will break down over the 300+ kms you walk. Buy 'Chiropodist's Felt' and cut it to size and...

    Immersion Spanish Schools in Spain

The only thing you might get left out of are the rave parties, late night antics and bar crawl drinking, but that probably would be a good thing ;-) If you are young at heart and don't mind making mistakes LOL. True: 'don't mind making mistakes' is important in learning any language at any...

Lacing - Try preventing blisters, or the dreaded black toenail, with a “Heel Lock” or “Lace Lock”.

Ian Fiegan's lacing website is a mine of info. Lots of different styles, yes, heel lock is great, lace lock is another name, and if your shoe is still too loose, stick a cut-to-shape piece of felt under the tongue. This stops slipping as do felt heel pads. No felt? (it's available as...

Le Puy-en-Velay to Conques - Question about water

As I read this, I am watching French News on SBS in Australia. It is 36C in Paris, maybe 39C. They have rangers in parks telling people not to light fires. Quelle horreur! 5 hectares was burnt. .....as I freeze in 16C Sydney.

Le Puy-en-Velay to Conques - Question about water

I walked this route in 2018 and had no problems. There are streams. there are farms that sell RAW milk at the door (Yes! so much better for the microbiome). OK, I just realized, as an Australian....I don't think 30C is a heatwave. Just watching French News on SBS and it's warm there at 19C...
