LIVE from the Camino Remember when I thought this was crazy?

I’ve just shared it here: Thread 'My Camino Route' https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/my-camino-route.88606/

    My Camino Route

I know that I appreciated others’ who shared their itineraries when I was in my planning stages so I thought I would do the same. Day 1- Porto to Matosihnos. I was in Porto for a few days before, so I took a taxi back to my hotel that first night. Then I took a taxi to Matosihnos to start day...

LIVE from the Camino Remember when I thought this was crazy?

About 3 weeks ago I posted a thread wondering if this was a crazy thing to do. I was full of self-doubt and anxiety, and fear of the unknown. The insights, wisdom, and recommendations from you all were exactly what I needed. And now I’m in Padron, getting ready for my final day into SdC and I...

LIVE from the Camino Gun fire? Cannon? Fireworks??

Close to both vineyards and orchards, yes. And they have definitely startled me!

I’m learning so much on this journey!

LIVE from the Camino Gun fire? Cannon? Fireworks??

I walked from Caldas de Reis to Padron today, and kept hearing booming sounds. It sounded like cannons going off in the hills around us. And now that I’m in Padron I’m hearing them again. Any idea what these are?

    Train to Lisbon?

I’m trying to find a train that will get me to Lisbon from SdC, but all that’s showing up is a bus. Am I missing something? If the bus is my option, anyone else here have experience with it! I’m not excited about an 8 hour bus ride…. Other options I’m missing?

Walk the Camino, while working remotely?

I have found it tricky to find 1- reliable WiFi, and 2- privacy. It can be done - I own my business so can’t check out completely for several weeks at a time, and I’ve been working a bit. But it’s not been convenient ( not to mention the extra weight from my iPad 🙄) Also, dont underestimate how...

Thank you for all the great suggestions!

    Post Camiño excursion?

Yea, should have mentioned that. I started in Porto, and was there for ~3 days before starting.

    Post Camiño excursion?

If all goes according to plan, I finish on Wednesday this coming week. I have a day trip planned to go to Fisterre on Thursday. But after that, I have a few days to kill before I have to be back in Lisbon Saturday night. What would you do with that time? Where should I go?

    The yellow road

If you do the coastal route it should avoid the big highways. The littoral, in my experience, has had a lot more interaction with the highway. Though it’s been interspersed with the most breathtaking ocean views, so …. 🤷‍♀️

    The yellow road

Muiño’s camping spot. A very welcome respite!

    The yellow road

1- where is the glass beach?? 2- I’ve not had any issues getting food. But I suggest to buy snacks whenever you can.

    The yellow road

No, this was after Viana do Castelo, with the worst being between Caminha and Baiona. From Baiona I opted for the coastal route instead of littoral, and that was much better.

    The yellow road

I started in Porto, and have done a combination of the two so far

    The yellow road

I just found it physically challenging to walk on that road for those long stretches. And mentally dispiriting! But it’s all good. 😊

    The yellow road

I’ve just made it to Baiona, and have been disappointed that so much of the way has been on the side of a busy road. It’s been flat, hot, with very little opportunity for rest or shade. Not to mention the car traffic. Curious how much more of the route is like this?
