New official alternative route to join Camino Frances at Lavacolla and avoid the hordes at Arzúa

New official alternative route to join Camino Frances at Lavacolla and avoid the hordes at Arzúa 1

No permission to download
The Xunta de Galicia have made a new official alternative route to avoid crowded Arzúa, St Irene and Pedrouzo (O Pino). I attach a photo of a new map which is situated at the point where the two routes divide, at the end of Boimorto village, by the basketball court. I have been told that the new route is fully marked with standard mojones (stone pillars).

You could also use the map to avoid Arzúa but stay at Pedrouzo, by following the DP6601 minor road shown running between the two routes. This road has two bars on it.

Distances
Boimorto to Lavacolla 28km
Lavacolla to Santiago 10km, so ideal to get to mass at 12:00

Accomodation
Boimorto has a good new Xunta albergue which is not usually full, and a private albergue/pension . The village has bar, restaurant, supermarket, pharmacy and bank.
Lavacolla has an assortment of accomodation, including a private albergue which takes reservations, some hotels, a bar, restaurant and supermarket.

Possible preceding stages
Sobrado to Boimorto 13km
Roxica to Boimorto 27km
Miraz to Boimorto 38km

NB North is not at the top of the map, the map is configured to fit to its situation with a left turn for Arzúa and right for Lavacolla. It only shows the Xunta albergues.
