I didn’t anticipate so many questions about my VF. Given I’ve only been home 1 month after being away a total of 7 months, then Christmas I’d ask that you give me a couple more weeks to post a summary of my stages, accommodations, daily distances and rough costs. I’m sure that will answer most questions. I can’t advise on how to address the Schengen 90 day rule. Thanks for your patience.

I have been planning to do the Via Francigena (VF) but very concerned about the accommodations situation due to my physical limitations. Buen Camino.

There are 3 very good guides written by Sandy Brown (Cicerone) and the Lightfoot Guides by Chin that will answer most of your questions concerning stages and accommodations. There is an official website and an official app which will help you to prepare for the VF end to end and to walk it. These too provide all the required information. There is a group on Facebook that has lots of information. The links to the GPX tracks are available from several sources. It is possible to walk the entire route in the 90 day limit (many have done so), but you obviously need to be capable of walking long stages, or you will need to jump stages. It’s a magnificent journey and fortunately it’s still very quiet, until you reach Lucca and Siena which are the starting points for most people. Enjoy the planning and then go walk to Roma!! HNY!🎉

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Yes indeed those are the sources I relied on to plan and refer back to while walking. I also gained many excellent first-hand tips from others who walked before me and others who were ahead of me hence my joy in sharing my experience.

Quick question, sorry if I am being irreverent, what do you mean "90 day limit?"

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!

Thanks Collette, I am one of the dozens interested in your VF information and advice. Also, when you are ready, is there a link to your blog?
Enjoy some downtime after your amazing efforts.
