Mozarabic Rite Mass Along the Camino?

A selection of Camino Jewellery
I remember a chat with a aged Spanish clergyman several years ago, in San Isidoro in Leon, if memory serves.?... I asked, and he said that he knew of no celebrations of the Mozarabic Rite Mass on the Frances.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
According to wiki:
"It is now celebrated in the diocese of Braga, Portugal, authorized in the diocese of Toledo, Spain, on an equal footing with the Roman rite."

It was celebrated several times each year in the "old" cathedral of Salamanca, at least up to the last few years. And once a year at the Mozarabic jewel at San Miguel de Escalada, on the Camino Vadiniense -- just a little north of Mansilla de las Mulas. That's the only time I've seen this rite, and it was accompanied by an accomplished choir singing the tropes of the time. Amazing!

Before the pandemic, it was celebrated every month in Leon at the Basilica of San Isidoro, by priests from a small secular order serving a theological institute-- I have spent half an hour searching for details-- I think I posted on this years ago but cannot find the post.

The annual celebration at San Miguel de Escalada sounds extraordinary. I visited the site on the Vadiniense some years ago and the layout of the church brings us back to Visigothic times, when the Spanish church was of a Mediterranean character-- if Rebekah knows of the particulars of the next event, it would be (almost, depending on the fares) worth the trip.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Over the New Year holiday I listened to this very nicely done podcast from the BBC about medieval pilgrimage. It was amusing to realize how completely familiar the medieval debates around...
