Spring is still my favorite time to walk Caminos. That's when the robins are out.Robin, welcome to the forum. Spring is a beautiful time to be walking. In the meantime, enjoy the planning!

I think that many of us "repeat offenders" know exactly what you mean.I find the planning stage almost intoxicating ;-) ... like I just can't wait to get back into it ... can't explain it
I have always thought there are three phases to a great adventure/trip/camino. #1 is the research and planning; #2 is actually doing it; and #3 is talking about it afterwards. I'm starting to think that #'s 1&3 are just as enjoyable and satisfying as #2.I find the planning stage almost intoxicating ;-) ... like I just can't wait to get back into it ... can't explain it
I find planning and doing much more enjoyable than talking about it - especially when my audience has heard it over and over again!I have always thought there are three phases to a great adventure/trip/camino. #1 is the research and planning; #2 is actually doing it; and #3 is talking about it afterwards. This forum is how I mostly talk about it (#3) unless I am specifically asked a question from a friend or family member. Then I have to watch carefully for glazed eyes so I will know when to stop talking!I find planning and doing much more enjoyable than talking about it - especially when my audience has heard it over and over again!
It's exactly what I did when I was traveling. I missed many a 'famous site', but found places and met people that I would never otherwise have come across. Serendipity indeed. To each their own. I rarely do more than a sketchy plan. Flight dates and where I am flying to. Closer to the time I think about where I might stay on the first night and possible local travel within Spain.
For me the fun is in the adventure and I enjoy it best when I don't know exactly what lies ahead. Sometimes that means that I miss some "famous" or well known sight but I find that I tend to experience serendipitous things.
I was talking with a friend about this and I realised that "I like to follow butterflies". Butterflies seem to fly in random directions but still get to where they are going.
Following butterflies is an adventure all on its own... lol. great euphemism. To each their own. I rarely do more than a sketchy plan. Flight dates and where I am flying to. Closer to the time I think about where I might stay on the first night and possible local travel within Spain.
