Holy Year from Pamplona 2010, SJPP 2011, Lisbon 2012, Le Puy 2013, Vezelay (partial watch this space!) 2014; 2015 Toulouse-Puenta la Reina (Arles)
Good News for all pilgrims planning on walking from Paris to join the Via Turonensis at Tours or any pilgrim passing through Paris on the way to SJPP - Good News! On December 7th the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris will be officially reopened! Better News! #1 The entry line to Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris was always long and almost unbearable, now will be even worse so walk to the head of the line, show security your Credencial, and you will be allowed into the Cathédrale offices to have it stamped. #2 Within easy walking distance from the Cathédrale you will find Tour Saint-Jacques all that remains from the Church of Saint-Jacques and the recognized starting point for the Paris Camino. Around the back of the park is a kiosk where you my have your Credencial stamped. The best way to start any Camino!

What a great post scruffy!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Interesting
So technically if I have my blank Credenciale and are traveling through Paris on my way to SJPDP I can simply take tgat 1st stamp but still indicate that my starting point is in SJPDP?

The powers that be in SdC are perfectly willing to recognize the 100k walk in the park from Sarria as a genuine Camino and will grant the Compostela. A souvenir stamp from Paris will not influene their decision since after quickly flipping through your Credential they will only really focus on the last 100k.

Hey, good to know. So truly the Security folks would let me in based on my Credencial so I can get a stamp, but does that let me into the cathedral to view after I get the the stamp?

well, I forgot to fill in my name at that time, the young man in the kiosk didn't check either. But I still registered myself in SJPP's office to get a stamp when I arrived there.

Years ago before the fire, there was a line of 300-400 to get in, I went up to the Security with my schoolboy French and said I was there to get my Credential stamped, made the motion of stamping, and showed him my Credencial. He called over a priest who took me straight back and around to the offices you have to know where they are, they were happy to see me, stamped my Credential, Buen Camino. I stayed for a quick look, not much to see or enjoy with hundreds of people milling around you. A similar story, I was in Barcelona on Easter, went to the Cathedral in the Gothic Quarter to observe the mass. Afterwards saw a sign 'Oficinas' knocked politely, and two burly police looking guys run over. As they are arrive the door opened and the Archbishop himself looked curiously out. Asking 'Sela por favor', he smiled, waved the gorrilas off, and personally stamped my Credential.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Wow, Archbishop! 😄
Didn't encounter any 'gorrila' when I was there. There was a long queue outside Barcelona cathedral, I showed the young church volunteers my credential, they were all very kind, tell me to go straight to the sacristy on the right. A friendly nun stamped it for me.
I got one each from Montserrat and Manresa too. We need to start a thread for stamp 😂

The second time around, two years later, my credential was stamped maybe by the same nun! A thread for stamps is a good idea. A nice one I have is from Bom Jesus do Monte outside of Braga. A lovely stamp and a surprise since Braga is off-Camino
