Being a bit of a planner 'holic' I tend to research historical weather conditions for a route over the last 3 years or so. Not an accurate predictor of future weather of course. But gets me quite close in terms of temperatures and chances of rain.

With the Invierno, you would need to consider that a) it's Galicia! So often wet. b) There are many hills, so weather can be changeable.

I would look at the weather for Ponferrada, Santiago, and somewhere midway, maybe Monforte?
Though you may find they are similar of course.

These are some of the weather sites I use, though with anything online they are always changing.........
wunderground is good but the 'history' feature is not working for some reason.

It would however be a little ironic if you couldn't walk the winter Camino in the winter 🤣

Okay, so yes it is ironic to be unable to walk the winter Camino in the Winter. But that was EXACTLY my experience!

I walked out of Ponferrada on Feb 26th, 2016 onto the Invierno. About an hour in, a "super-cell" descended upon the path. It was eight straight hours of heavy rain until I arrived in Las Medulas.

By the time of arrival, I had exhausted all three changes of socks and had developed stage 1 trench foot. (The technical term for this situation is "double-plus un-good.")

I was informed by the locals that an actual dryer was two days further down the path and I knew for a fact that an air-dry was NOT going to get those socks back to being wearable safely.

So, I went back to Ponferrada and dried out for a day before stepping back onto the Frances. That presented its own problems with deep snow, very icy passages through O Cebreiro, and dense fog most mornings after.

You would be likely to have better luck than me but still, you are going to need a backup plan in case things go pear-shaped with weather.
