Lots of options here. Last January my group told them where we were from and they started running a video of our town's streets on the big screens. Very festive place.

But I agree about the market, also for a bit larger budget: LUME (which is across the street from the market) and the Gato Negro is kind of a "classic institution" in the old town... maybe for *after* the meal?

I may be late, but if money is no object, the restaurant in the parador , Reataurant dos Reis, is lovely.
