Hi there pilgrims!
Does any of you have experiences with BlaBlaCar or Cabify from Bilbao Airport to Irun?
Looking forward to your suggestions.
Thanks!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Go to Rome2Rio.com. Type in Bilbao airport to Irun. It will show you all options including a pretty quick bus ride option with just one stop. I use rome2rio all the time for figuring out how to get from point A to point B. It's a great free to use app.

It seems Rome2Rio only applies on older Android devices. Mine at least not.

I’m of the opinion that if you can’t navigate the internet you have no chance whatsoever of managing a Camino. However, and I hope this helps:

I do not agree. For hundreds of years people have been managing the Camino without Internet. Or did I miss any irony in your answer? 😉

Of course, you could. But I think the world has changed. Nowadays, it is designed to work with the Internet.

A lot of information is no longer accessible without using the Internet. So it's actually more difficult now to navigate travel without the Internet than it was 20 years ago.

Rome2rio is a perfectly good website, on Apple, Android or on a PC or laptop. I've never used their app (if they have one).
Just Google "Rome2Rio" then enter "Bilbao airport" and " Irun" in the boxes it shows you. It will present various alternative modes or combinations of modes of transport.
It works with most pairs of place names from anywhere in the developed world. Perhaps try it with a journey you're familiar with first, so you get used to the format.

From Bilbao airport to Irun, I would definitely catch the regional bus. The airport is relatively small and the main info desk will point you to where to catch the bus. It takes around two hours and costs less than €15.

For context, it will take you between 5 and seven days to walk along the Camino del Norte, from Irun back to Bilbao!
Buen Camino!

I'm planning on the Camino del Norte in June. Will I see many pilgrims? Is the Camino well marked? Thank you in advance.
So I do other treks in the USA that require permits. Well, sometimes they require "lotteries" to actually get a "permitted" start date. Once you hike there you know the permit system is just meant...
My two young daughters (ages 17 and 19 - will be 20) plan to walk the Camino del Norte together from Irun starting in June. I'm helping them organize it, and am getting very mixed advice about...
