List of shorter stages along the Camino Levante

Hello, I would love it if anyone was willing to share their list of stages along the Levante. An ideal day for me would be 25km. Towns offering non-dormitory accommodations are also preferred.

Also, don't miss the Detailed Planning thread that was created during pandemic lockdown. On that thread we walked virtually, led by @AJGuillaume, for whom 25 km would be a long stage. So the thread gives many options for breaking down the stages to whatever distances you want.

I have done some preliminary work on this which I’ll share. Attached as a PDF as well as in this image.

Bear in mind that some distances could be a bit approximate as there are discrepancies between various sources and the map routing.

The longest stage now is 28.6km. And the shortest 9km. 41 in all as opposed to the 28 Classic stages.

The information on Accommodation (with a firm emphasis on Municipal Albergues) comes from that invaluable website (www.vieiragrino.com/)

In trying to locate each place (Albergue/Hostel etc) on the map I found some were still uncertain. If anyone who has actually walked this in recent times has a list with locations (lat, lon preferably) that would be welcome.

The columns are as follows:

• New stage number,
• Classic stage number (as used in website above)
• From and To Placenames
• Classic stage distance (colour coded)
• Split stage distance (colour coded)
• Added distance to off-track albergue (currently only Alpera)
• Accommodation details (address, phone numbers etc)
• Status: Booked (none as yet), ? (uncertain in my mind), ! (I’m worrying) and Albergue

I hope this helps someone else.

Thank you so much! This is a terrific document for those who are going to walk the Levante.

One question — why are you “worried” for Albacete, El Toboso, Tembleque, Mora, and Toro? As your own document shows, there are plenty of private options. Maybe I’m missing something. Buen camino!

Worried is perhaps overstating it. Facing a decision. Unsure of what to do. Needing to book (probably) which is not my preferred MO.

I’m very glad it might be of use. As I did after the Camino Mozárabe earlier this year I’ll put up a document based on what actually happens.

Errata:
Stages 35 and 36.
The distances for these stages should be 22km and 12.1km respectively (rather than the other way around as shown).

I might wait a little while before posting a v4 in case other errors are picked up.

Following the ongoing flooding tragedy in Valencia it is probably more appropriate to start in Alicante instead until they have had time to clean up, to grieve and to rebuild.

With that in mind I have prepared a list of the stages to Albacete. I have split the one long stage (the seventh) into two.

The accommodation information comes from the Association website for Alicante.

I hope someone finds this useful.
