HI all see a lot of posts on whether to pack sleeping bag or a liner a lot of people state that some alberges have some state all some say yes some say no has anyone collected an albergue list of what is supplied for bedding as there is so many different answers without actually stating which is carrying bed covers or liners maybe get a list going here if one is not already started then collate it on a bed sheet i mean a spread sheet.
All you expertees will keep me wright im sure

Cathal, I don´t want to sound like an old-fashioned pedant, even if I am one, but a little bit of punctuation wouldn't come amiss, Ask a good friend to read your post aloud to you without reading it silently first. then you might see what I am getting at. If your friend stumbles, that is where you need a comma or a full stop.

In answer to your question, what albergues provide depends on the individual albergue, and to compile a list of what bedding is supplied in what albergues would be a massive and ultimately futile undertaking. If you are going to stay in albergues, take a light sleeping bag and/or a sleeping bag liner or not as you decide. Just don´t blame me if you get cold at night.

Not sure, by the way, what this has to do with bedbugs but there are plenty of threads on this forum to tell you everything you need to know about bedbugs, possibly a lot more.

Many albergue listings in Gronze indicate whether sheets are provided. How consistent this is isn't clear. You might be able to infer the provision of blankets if you look carefully at photos of the dormitories, even if that isn't listed explicitly in the text.

Play it safe and take a sleeping bag (and or a liner). You never know what you’ll find and for the extra bit of weight it’s simpler and easier just to carry one in case you need it. I never go without one. Mine opens out into a blanket and weights less than 800 grams.

PS: I’ve done 5 Camino’s and I’ve never seen a bed bug on any of them. Maybe I’m just lucky!

As a general rule, in Spain, albergues provide a bottom sheet and pillowcase. If you are staying in private rooms or hotels, linens are generally provided. There is no real list.

There are a few variations. In a few albergues, you may sleep on a floor mat with no linen provided as an example.

Some albergues do provide extra blankets, but this is not guaranteed and not usually listed in the amenities on Gronze.com. As @dougfitz mentions, Gronze.com is a valuable source of information and may indicate if sheets are available for rent (although usually, they are not in Spain).

I have only volunteered in one albergue (out of a total of five) where blankets are provided. Most did not provide them due to measures for bedbug prevention and mitigation.

I am not sure I understand why you're asking this question since you seem to have done a lot of Caminos and must know the situation as well as anyone here?

But, don't be confused. You need to bring a liner year-round and a sleeping bag in the colder months. If you're staying at Albergues, you will use one or the other almost every night, no matter what they have.

I never saw bedbugs. But you might get unlucky. Some people recommend treating your bedding and pack with permethrin to prevent bedbugs from latching onto your equipment.

And maybe you had trouble editing your speech to text or something, but it's considered good form around here to at least attempt to make a properly grammatical post with capitals and punctuation.

Based on a previous post it seems that you already know the score on bedding in albergues.

Your Journey has started on the Camino I started in May on two occasions where the advice would be to bring a liner or sleeping bag make sure you grease the zip with candle wax nothing worse than a stuck zip at 5.30am on a dark morning. Not all alberqes carry sheets or blankets in my experience best to have a light 2 season bag or liner as it can be cold at night time specially over the mountain ranges or at higher altitudes. I would suggest keeping it light as possible your feet will thank you for it. I also used pyretherum to treat my gear prior to leaving to reduce impact with the dreaded bed bugs enjoy your time planning and dont forget to look back going up over the pyrenees to enjoy those views Buen Camino

I think he was making a fair point about punctuation. It needn't be perfect, but a few dots here and there take the chore out of reading a paragraph, for everyone.. in any language.

I agree that the compilation of any list or spreadsheet would be a futile endeavour, and there might be other, more important, or more relevant factors that determine where we find ourselves sleeping. But knock yourself out if you want to get one going..

If I'm gonna be walking, I just carry a lightweight sleeping bag. Always. I remember the old boy scouts expression 'bheith ullamh' from when I was a kid. It went over my head then, as wisdom does, but I try to live by it now..
