Where are people on CF these days

CF 23, Primitivo & San Salvador 24, CF oct/nov?
Feeling a little alone at CF. Where is it most likely that I won't be the only one in the albergue, Villar de Masarif, Villavante, Hospital de Orbigo or Astorga (which is probably too long for me tomorrow). But if so, which albergue there? A bit unexpected, haven't seen others, and the only one today again here in Oncina, none in D or here at El Pajar. And can someone dry my clothes please?, I almost died in the heat today, but my clothes refuse to dry outside. Did go at this time of the year to avoid crowds, just wasn't prepared to be totally alone. Luxury problem, I know..

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
There's an expression in English 'Be careful what you wish for - you might just get it". You didn't want crowds - you haven't got them 🤣.
I guess one positive about being alone is that you can stretch your washing line pretty much wherever you like inside!

I know you and I have very different ideas as to what constitutes a hot day - what was the temperature today -12 degrees, 15?

Hope you get to meet up with a few nice people henceforth.

Buen Camino!

I don't think that many people stay in Oncina. I was the only pilgrim at El Pajar when I stayed there in June!
I think that Hospital de Órbigo will be a good bet for meeting other pilgrims.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

I am now on the CF and there are few pilgrims and I’m loving it. The solitude is beautiful and the pilgrims I have meant are wonderful, just few. Not many cafes open but I’m doing fine. My last caminos were busy and even fun. But I’m enjoying this more. I’m praying for the pilgrim who passed away a couple of days ago near O Cebreiro.

Where are people on the CF? Perhaps, and hopefully, they are in a good spiritual state, thinking about themselves inwardly instead of thinking about others outwardly. Perhaps . . . hopefully. Chuck

Right after the bridge, at the entrance to Hospital de Orbigo, there is an albergue and a nice hostel.

Ha ha, you are so right about that 👍

It is probably your Viking blood. (LOL)
I always love it when I have to travel to my company's HQs in California. I'll be coming in and its a very comfortable upper 60s F and everyone in that office is wearing beanie hats, sweaters, fleece hoodies, etc. and complaining a STORM on "how cold it is" :)

In my experience, people in a good spiritual state often think of others and not just of themselves.

YMMV, of course.

I'm not sure what this means, or if it even addresses the OP's question, but I will offer that humans can enjoy solitude, while at the same time yearn to relate with their fellow humans. Both can be true.

As you probably already know the Spanish Government have announced a 3 day mourning period to reflect on the horrific death toll as a result of the recent floods! Not sure when this starts or ends. I know I will say a prayer and think about Spain's generous friendly and welcoming people.

It's nearly winter. They've gone to home to collect their firewood for the winter, or they've gone back to school. Stay warm, you've got this.

You had the option of not making a judgemental comment. Finding community on the camino is one of the great joys of walking.

Hi @KariannNor. Three days later, have you found some company over the last couple of days?
Thanks, lots of nice people 🙂
Not very fun to tell about things here when there are always some people who take things in the worst meaning/ways. Walking to Ponferrada tomorrow, so ny mind is working on "Invierno or not", .. but not expecing answers or meanings or anything. If you can't be nice, stay away.

The Invierno is great but at this time of year I would seize the opportunity to follow the Frances all the way home. Even with all the re-routeing, re-organizing and re-surfacing that Turismo Galicia have imposed on it, that way, the Way, still has a profound history that the by-passes lack

Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Finished the Camino Frances a week ago, from Roncesvalles Out of all my many previous, different Caminos I have to say this was the best. In terms of good weather, only two very wet days until Santiago. Just the right amount of pilgrims and wonderful, friendly people. By November many cafes and restaurant had closed and we had to make the most of where was open.
At the beginning it was busier but after Burgos it was perfect. Beginning of October is a great time of year to begin. IMO.
