I will be arriving in Santiago airport with a bike packed in a cardboard box (suitable for airline travel).
I plan to cycle on the CF from Leon back to Santiago de Compostela.
I need to get from the airport to Leon with the bicycle still in it's cardboard box.
What is my best and most cost effective route and type of transport?
Many thanks in advance...

Fail to prepare? reduce your risk by buying this book full of practical info.
2nd ed.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you for the link
Matt
Actually, this is from the city rather than direct from the airport. Do you reckon I'll have to take the airport bus to the city centre first, and then get on another bus to Leon?

Yes, I don’t see the airport listed on the itinerary. Probably worth searching on ALSA. NOT for your anticipated dates, just for a corresponding weekday this month. Timetables are only published monthly though they rarely vary.

You might also want to consider flying into a different airport. Oviedo has good links to Leon. You could even cycle the Salvador in reverse 😉

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-

What a great lateral thinker you are Tincatinker!
Ryanair fly London Stansted to Asturias airport (what is described as the closest to Oviedo), and I can get a direct Alsa bus from that airport to Leon. Cycle the 1/2 CF to SdC then fly Santiago back to London Stansted.
Headache solved! Brilliant, just brilliant. Thank you for your help!
