Camino Portuguese Central from 11.09.2023 by bike
Hello again.

My name is Bjoern, a fellow pilgrim living in Ireland. After completing my first Camino 2023 (Camino Portugues) by bicycle, I am back for more.

As holiday restrictions in my company do not let me take more than 2 weeks in one go, I am splitting my Camino Francés now over 3 years with 2 weeks each.

Today I am on my way to SJPDP to walk the around 290 km to Burgos over the next two weeks. I will start tomorrow (Saturday) morning from SJPDP.

I look forward to meeting you out on the Camino.

Don’t be shy and say hi. I am a big fella with the blue hiking boots in size 49 and pink laces. With my Ireland and the county Clare flag on my rucksack I will be hard to miss.

I keep you posted about my progress.

Cheers

Bjoern

Good luck mate, you sound cool, buen Camino

From another Irish pilgrim who walks in sections- have a great time and Ultriea!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
A warm welcome and Buen Camino from Germany!

Not as big (shoes only 46), but same plans.
After walking the CF in one go in 2019 and the CP from Porto last year, my plans looking similar to yours!

2025 in summer break I will walk SJPdP to Burgos, train back to Bilbao or Biarritz
2026 second part Burgos to León (most beautiful Meseta, maybe on Easter break, March 21st to April 7th)
2027 the last leg León to SdC in summer break with a complement to Finisterre on my own feet this time

Can't wait to get to SJPdP!

Let’s keep in touch. We could do a leg or two together. I will pm you.

Hello fellow pilgrims,

Day one is now done. Sitting here now at Auberge Borda getting ready for dinner.

It was a tough first day with steep inclines, but magnificent views. The weather was amazing, and first Camino family connections are made already.

Tomorrow I’ll cross into Espania and will enjoy the hospitality of Albergue de Peregrinos de Orreaga-Roncesvalles.

See you out there.

Buen Camino

Yours Bjoern

Did my 5th CF this past June. After the first two (2016 & 2018), I felt like that was enough. Then a few years later in 2021 I thought well maybe one more in 2022. When I got back from that one, I...
Update I haven’t posted in several days and stopped responding to comments because I’ve been simply too emotionally and physically exhausted and could not keep up. The Camino took every ounce of...
My husband, Jim, and I have walked the Camino Frances twice from SJPP to Santiago, in 2014 and 2023. We are now retired in our mid-60's and would like to pilgrimage again in 2026. However, this...
Looking to book Camino Frances end of March. Good reviews for Walks in Spain but Pilgrim.es has quoted cheaper but can’t find any reviews. Any advice please 😊
Can anybody tell me what the section of the retablo of the Chapel of the Birth Of the Virgin Mary (Capilla de la Natividad de la Virgen) represents, shown in the attached photo? Thanks.
