I have a friend who would like to cycle the Camino Frances (last 200km from Ponferrada). A quick search shows there are many cycle rental vendors in Ponferrada. Does anyone with experience have any recommendations? Or is there perhaps one in Leon that is so incredible it might be a better option to rent and start there or take a train to Ponferrada. Thanks for any help.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Maybe I should have been less specific, what are opinions on the best companies from which to rent bikes for the Camino Frances.
Thanks in advance

I guess there’s a bit of a shortage of bike hirers on the forum. Your friend may have to rely on Tripeadvertiser and Godgle and their ilk for reviews and, on their own interactions with potential hirers. It’s not often I give out my inside leg measurement but I will to a bike hire company. I’d also be wary of a company that didn’t ask for it.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I used ‘Spain is More’….. they’ll deliver a bike to your hotel or Albergue . They were absolutely fabulous with a flawless execution of helping me do my Camino Norte on bicycle. Www .spainismore dot com
They are out of Leon, but I’m not sure it matters to your rental

Bikeiberia rent and drop off at the start of your Camino and collect from your end point. I used them twice and it worked very well.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

We rented four e-bikes from El Camino a Pedales. The bikes were in good shape and worked well for our five day Camino from Ponferrada to Santiago. Highly recommended.
