Baamonde to Boimil

Hello!
Has anyone taken the new alternate route from Baamonde to Boimil? The one that goes across the hypotenuse of the triangle instead of dropping South to meet the Frances. If so, can you tell me about it? We will be to Baamonde in about a week and wonder if it's feasible to do that shortcut.

I’m currently at A Roxica and plan to take that route after tomorrow. Will arrive in Boimorto tomorrow and then the norther option to stear clear of the Frances joining path.
I’ll then head SW to reconnect at Brea. It look pretty straight forward but with minimal supplies, if any. I’ll let you know.

Thanks! Yes, please let me know. We're interested in how far it is along there, as well if there are any places to stay. We've heard there aren't albergues, but have wondered if that also includes hotels.

I walked from Sobrado dos Monxes to Orxal and stayed at Twin Pines. I decided to drop down to the Francés at Brea.

Part of what is confusing to me is that there appears to be two Sobrados. Would anyone be willing to put up an image drawing where you are actually going? There are alternatives leaving Baamonde, as well as leaving Boimorto. I guess I'm curious about both of those.

I'm wondering about the new variant from baamonde to sobrado. Does anyone know if there's public transport along the way as my fellow traveller may need to get a bus for about 10km of it due to health reasons. Particularly for the 630m ascent. I'm searching online but I can't find anything

I walked from Baamonde to Sobrado via As Cruces which is I assume what you meant. I stayed in Pobra de Parga the only option of you have a budget. I do not think there were buses on this route and if there were they would be few and rar between, it is a nice walk though and Pobra de Parga has some charm.

Do you mean the Variant from Boimorto? If so then yes.
No public transport along the route as far as I recall. I don't see any bus stops in my YouTube videos either. No steep climbs after Boimorto, just a very gradual gradient. I walked from Sobrado (22? Km) however if you want you could split it and restart from Boimorto, appx. 10km.

Like @trecile and @NadineK ( amongst many others) I stayed at Twin Pines. From a little outside Boimorto it's road walking all the way, but the road is fairly quiet and the driver's were very considerate. Casa Moncho on the right shortly before leaving Boimorto made an excellent tortida, it's the last place that you'll see until Twin Pines. (There's a small supermarket in Boimorto too). Twin Pines will feed you (you need to book) and give you a basic breakfast in the morning.
Day two was much the same (with a little gravel) until the highway. Then you have a path beside it. Bar Estanco Suarez is enroute, look back behind you when you regain the road just after the old Roman Bridge and you'll see the tabac sign. Closed when I was there though.

I joined the Frances shortly after Santiso (open cafe, excellent) just before the Airport.
It's a 31km day, but you can easily break it into two shorter days.
