Burgos for 2 nights

Time of past OR future Camino
Planning for Fall 2024
I’m currently walking my first Camino and am ready for a rest day. Does anyone have recommendations where to spend 2 nights in Burgos? Nothing really expensive - hoping for 30-60 euros/ night range. Prefer a private room and bathroom for rest days.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Thank you. Currently the price for 2 nights on Booking.com is $266’(!) I did email them directly. Any other recommendations?

Dynamic pricing sadly. (based on demand)
I was about to recommend the same place.

I see prices over the next month vary from 72-158 per night!

It's hard to recommend places as we all like different things.
I tend to use the filters on booking dot com, like private bathroom, 8+ review scores, budget amount, then see what comes up. I then read the reviews, ignoring the obvious bad ones that would not be happy anywhere! Then I often book direct.

This is looking at tomorrow night. One private room comes up in your budget.
But depending on the dates you may see more of course.

That's what I paid and it was absolutely not worth it at all. No sense of luxury for that price. I've heard hotel jacobea is good

What dates are you searching for?

might fit the bill for you. If you get a room on the top floor it only has a small window so high up the wall that you can't see out of it but you do get your own bathroom and a tv if you want it. I stayed there when recovering from a root canal in May. It was quiet and clean and cost just under 45 euros per night

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.

I stayed in a cabin at Camping Fuentes Blancas, which is on the river path a mile or so before Burgos center. It's not convenient for sightseeing, but very relaxing.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I also stayed in Hostal Lar in early October 2023, and liked it very much. Hotel Condor, which is a little more full service, is also a good option. Burgos is a big city — you’ll likely end up paying the higher end of your price range, but it’s nice town and there is plenty to see on a “rest” day if you are so inclined. Buen Camino!

My regular stop in Burgos is the Norte y Londres which is clean and central, but I doubt it’ll be in your target price range. If you do opt for that the breakfast is OK but not great.
Great hotel, but not in the price range. And their breakfast coffee is the worst🤣

I stayed there last time, the rooms were small but clean and comfortable. Close to the old town, and on the Camino.
There was a convoluted way of getting in and out of the building after hours, but it was very reasonably priced, and Id stay there again.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-

If you are willing to share a place with another pilgrim or two (or more, even), you may be able to get an apartment that would be very reasonable. Last year in late May, two walking companions and I decided to stay in Burgos 3 nights and do some of the MANY cultural sites there. We got a quite nice apartment that overlooked the plaza in the old city (with a view of the cathedral across the other side of the plaza -- we would just stare at the lit-up cathedral at night from our living room!) for 100 euros/night. Split 3 ways, that was very reasonable. I got my own room, and they had theirs (a couple). There were more beds in the place than just the ones we used. We were able to do laundry there for no extra charge, and we did breakfast and light lunch at the apartment. We found it on Booking. Only trouble with apartments is that they only give you one key usually, so if you have multiple people who might be doing their own thing during the day, you have to coordinate.
