I suffer with blisters on every Camino regardless of all my foot care, shoes and socks. As in the article I use Kinesio-Tex when I feel the pain coming in. On the tender points of the fatty toes and around the bottom of the heels i now use the tape before it starts feeling tender. Great tape

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Whether it has or not, it is a great resource. John Vonhof's work is classic. Another great resource is the advice from Rebecca Rushton at https://www.blister-prevention.com/.

Even though I only had one tiny toe blister on my first Camino, after I discovered Omnifix tape during my second walk I have been applying it to my known blister prone areas every morning. I consider it a sort of insurance policy against blisters, and it works better if I use it, than if I leave it in my pack waiting for a problem.

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
Thanks Andre! Just getting some hot spots the week before I go on camino so very timely - a great source of effective practical advice 🙂

My wife and I discovered John Vonhof's book recently and were amazed how much we enjoyed and learned from it. Definitely look into Engo patches to reduce friction (remember: they go on your shoes, not on you 😉).
I've also been experimenting with socks after reading the book and have become very fond of Wrightsocks. They're double-layer and also reduce friction. My favourites are the ones with a merino outer layer; they do some with a Camino scallop but I find my feet get too hot in them (recycled plastic outer).

We have always used it since you recommended it to us in 2022 (when we had foot issues). We also put ours on every morning and not wait until we feel problems coming on - great stuff.

after I discovered Omnifix tape
Excellent advice - I discovered it about midnight during one of my long walks 25 years ago and have been using it ever since. A doctor who was strapping his feet brought it to may attention, and I learnt it was / is used in huge quantities by surgeons. And now also by some distance walkers.

It also goes by other brand names and is readily available in Spain.
