Just want to get an idea of how much people tend to carry and if there are any stretches with a lack of bars, Fuentes where we can top up.
This is assuming we hit sunny weather!

ETA: Note this is for the Camino Madrid.

Carried 1 litre, topped up at every opportunity. Almost every village had a drinkable water tap somewhere. Once it got to the longer stretches I had a collapsible 750ml bottle that I used perhaps 3-4 times in the whole route. Carrion de los Condes to Calzadilla de la Cueza at 17.2 km is probably the longest gap.

I always carried 2 litres - have had to rescue people in the past who have had insufficient. As said above there is one section with 17km to a van - IF a the van is there. Otherwise it is 24 km with no potential to re supply. That day apart you will find something nearer.

I always carry a couple of 20 ounce bottles and buy more as needed. There was only one day, I think it was on the Norte, when I ran out of water. No, I ran out once on the VdlP too but happened upon some guys working on a dock who had plenty of water and shared.
A word to the wise, I wouldn’t wait until a sunny day to carry water— even in cold cloudy weather a person can become dehydrated.

My water bottle on the Camino de Madrid in June was 1 litre and it was sufficient for me. There were enough places for me to top up.

Not sure if this has already been addressed here; in any case, the castle at Manzanares el Real on the Camino de Madrid is now closed to visits and will most likely not reopen this year. Reason...
