Segovia Balloons!

Time of past OR future Camino
CF 2016
Del Norte, Finesterre 2018
Walking the Madrid Camino in April 2023 I was pleasantly surprised leaving Segovia when these hot air balloons appeared on the skyline above the city early in the morning! As I'm planning to walk the Madrid again in April 2025 I'm going to take a ride in a balloon!! My interest in them occurred in 1988 when I was riding my bicycle to work in Darwin, NT, Australia when I heard this whoosh, whoosh right behind me as hot air balloon approached the nearby oval to land. It was so close to me I nearly fell off my bike!
On one of our frequent trips driving down the centre of Australia either to Perth in the west or Sydney in the east to visit family, we had planned to take our children up in a balloon in Alice Springs. Sadly a year later, Australia had its deadliest hot air balloon crash killing 13 people when 2 collided near Alice Springs. How fortunate we never got around to it.
I'm interested to know has anyone had the joy of a hot air balloon ride in Segovia?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I haven't ridden in one of them but I also saw them over Segovia on my Camino de Madrid last year when I was walking towards the city from San Ildefonso. I was told it was a regular weekend activity there.

And me! I heard them before I saw them and in the early morning mist, my blog states 'Lovely simple walk today that started with a bit of a surprise as I heard the roar of modern day dragons behind me as hot air balloons started lifting off apparently from within the city. "
