New high-speed train low cost Avlo service Madrid-Galicia and Madrid-Asturias - tickets from 7 euros

RENFE has launched a promo today for their new Avlo high-speed low-cost train service from Vigo-Madrid and A Coruna-Madrid (with a stop in Santiago de Compostela) with tickets as low as 7 euros. The effective departure dates are July 22 to Sept 30. See article links below. They're in Spanish but your browser should translate it well enough if you don't know Spanish.

A sample trip is Saturday, August 24 from Santiago de Compostela (07:06) to Madrid-Chamartin (10:32) for 7 euros. 1 carry-on bag and 1 personal item is included in the price. Seat selection is an extra 8 euros if you want that. They are also doing this promo for their new service to Asturias as well. I think this is a great deal for pilgrims needing to go back to Madrid to fly home or for anyone who wants to go to Galicia/Asturias from Madrid.

For train nerds, RENFE is using brand new S-106 rolling stock that were just delivered to them a few months ago.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Wow, nice!

Thank you so much, this 7:06 (Santiago) - 10:32 (Madrid) train is perfect for me. I was planning to take the one arriving at 11:34 but was wondering if that's a bit tight. To arrive one hour earlier gives me that extra bit of time to get from Chamartin to Atocha without worry.

Thank you for this, and unlike some "special offers" (I'm thinking Eurostar here) the 7€ tickets actually exist!

(that's Madrid to SdC in September BTW)

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
