Ourense to Santiago in 5 Sunday stages

Something I came across earlier today which sounded interesting. The Ourense local council and a public service organisation are running a project where local people can walk from Ourense to Santiago as a series of 5 Sunday walks. Transport arranged from Ourense to the start of each stage (other than day 1 of course ) and back to Ourense late in the afternoon that day. A guide to explain points of interest about that day's stage. An opportunity to walk a Camino at weekends and receive a Compostela while sleeping every night in your own bed. A bargain at 49 euro!

What a brilliant concept! It's much what I was trying to do from here at home on the Jakobsweg, however the public transport between points started to take far too long. (Ironically my monthly pass also costs €49)

Sounds like a lovely idea...I walked that route in April, beautiful countryside but it was hilly and rainy
