Hi! My name is Tom, I'm 66, looking forward to walking my 3rd Camino in April-May 2022. I’m from the US west coast, retired 3 years, I first heard of the Camino when a very good friend and his wife walked it in 2005 following the tragic death of a child. It was a phenomenal experience for them. Along the way they spent several days walking with a man who was very interested in listening to their story of their tragic loss of their 19 year old daughter as they walked. That man turned out to be Martin Sheen, doing his research for the movie. I saw the movie and am now a “Camino lifer”! The Camino comes at a moment in my life full changes—and of course the accompanying fears, hopes, anxieties, dislocations. Seems that you discover the reason for walking your Camino as you walk your Camino.
