I don't think it's a dumb question whatsoever. To me-- anything about being practical is practical. I don't bring my glasses but my friend has this great glasses strap thing which he wears around his neck. It's so quick and easy for him I am...

One tip about water sources on the Camino: typically I choose to only fill at fountains or sources that have a spigot or button to push, rather than a free flowing stream from some pipe coming out the side of a mountain. I have a favorite...

I booked a reservation with the Hotel Asador Versus in Castanares through Agoda for mid-September. I see now that the hotel no longer offers reservations through either Agoda or Booking.com. I twice tried to contact the hotel directly to...

It‘s after you cross the highway. You need to turn left into the first street after crossing. Regular camino goes straight ahead. Edited to add: it’s actually just about half a km after leaving Orbaneja Riopico.

Thanks for all the tips on finding the river route to Castanares. I'll be staying there for the night so it's important that I find the turn. I'll start looking about 1km out of Orbaneja Riopico. Wish me luck!
