When I saw @ivar last month he told me that he hasn't been able to get any, and TrekkInn, where a friend brought hers shows them unavailable. TrekkInn does have this similar raincoat/poncho, but they don't list the weight...

Staying in nicer hotels, you may miss some of the community aspects of walking a Camino. Most people will be staying in more modest pilgrim oriented accommodations. The chances for spontaneous interactions with other pilgrims will be reduced...

Indeed, I remember back in 2001 an Australian hospitalera at Santo Domingo de la Cazalda who kept an elderly Irish lady there for three nights using the simple expedient of hiding her boots - Hester had undergone a double hip replacement and had...

Hehe. The thread that wouldn't die! Note that it was originally composed in 2015... I've still never found love on the Camino (and I've hiked a sh*t ton) but I'm frankly not actively looking for it while walking anymore. More like, if it...

I find even merino wool itchy. And I hate the feel of tech fabrics. My compromise is tee shirts made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. Feels like cotton, but dries pretty fast. These tee shirts are extraordinarily inexpensive, too.
