I am an American, retired IT Director and Emergency Preparedness Planner for a large university, I had been planning this Camino experience for several years since seeing The Way. I saw this as a spiritual exercise and looked forward to whatever came beside me along the way. I hoped to meet other forum members, I'll had the forum logo on my pack.
I left home on August 24, 2016 for Morocco, spent some time in the desert (Ouarzazate) then on to SJPdP via Barcelona and started walking on September 2nd.
One of my other desires inspired by a thread on this forum is to walk overnight under the full moon on September 16th when I suspect I will be near Rabé or Hontanas.
I published a blog at
TheOtherJew.blogspot.com - read about the name in the first blog post. Buen Camino!
Then in 2018, I walked Porto to Santiago with my adult son and my wife. Very different, but my wife agreed that we needed to live on the Camino, so in May of 2019 we settled into life in Astorga, a favorite place from my walk on the Camino Frances.
