Getting from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid

Hi! I took the train from Santiago to Madrid and let me say this, it was a long ride! Needless to...

Death of an Indonesian pilgrim on the Camino Frances

How very sad! I remember that stretch and even as an avid hiker it was brutal, especially because of the rain and slippery slopes. Poor man. May he rest in peace.

    Newly minted EU citizen

Hi Lunna! Congrats on your dual citizenship. I personally could have gotten dual but I was told that as a dual citizen I would need to file taxes in both countries. Not sure if you are aware of that. Other than that, I see no time constraints for you on doing the Caminos!

    Hiking shoes or sandals?

Hi! My shoes of choice for the Camino were Sketchers D'lites. When it rained, nothing soaked through. When it was hot and sunny, my feet felt fine. Wore cotton socks with them. I"ll be using Sketchers on my next Camino.

    Cats on the Camino

As a cat lover myself, while I didn't pet them in case they had fleas, I was tempted to rescue at least one who followed me. Enjoy them.

Rail line closed between Santiago and Ourense - services to Madrid disrupted

Hi! This has been going on for awhile. I bought my train ticket from Madrid to Sarria back in June and the train stopped at Ourense. At that point, we were able to get on a bus from there to Sarria. I am concerned how the train is operating from Santiago to Madrid as I do have a reservation...
