An aside, but the majority of the people who live along the Camino routes have little interest and certainly no vested interest in the Camino...
Even my elderly mother can walk 12 kms in a few days, so there should be no problem. And no one in Santiago will be clocking your time at an imaginary finish line like they do at a marathon.
