I am Sara Zanni, I was born and raised in Milan and I actually live near the city, but my husband and I love moving a lot. I am an archaeologist (yeah, I know: you wanted to become an archaeologist when you were a child… well, I’ve done it!), but I also have a passion for new technologies.
To finish this short bio, there is only a last thing. I am a pilgrim. I’ve walked the Saint James Way twice and my passion for the cultural and historic routes is rooted in my love for the history and the Middle Age. Walking the “Milky Way” I’ve stepped into an ancient history and in 2014 my steps will head west once again: on May 15 I will start walking from the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio, where the patron saint of Milan rests, to go to Santiago de Compostela and to Fisterra. For about 100 days I will follow the historical routes that from centuries lead pilgrims to Santiago, Rome and Jerusalem: the Via Francigena, the Via Domitia, the Chemin du Piémont Pyrénéen and the French Way.

"Leaving is the bravest and finest act of all.
An egotistical happiness, possibly. But for him who
relishes the flavor, happiness.
To be alone, to be poor in needs, to be ignored, to be an
outsider who is at home everywhere, and to walk, great and by
oneself, toward the conquest of the world"
I. Eberhardt
